NACFB appoints board
members

Simpson have joined the board of the UK’s National Association of
Commercial Finance Brokers as it steps up activity within the asset
finance sector.
Jones, who is managing director of Omega Commercial Solutions,
becomes chairman for 2011 and 2012. Simpson, owner-director of
brokerage Asset Finance Solutions (UK), has been appointed as a
board director.

The NACFB will hold an Asset
Finance Seminar on 1 March in London. Its Commercial Finance Expo
takes place at the NEC in Birmingham on June 29.

Finance

Sonia Ubhi and Gavin Dixon join
the Hitachi Capital division as account managers to expand broker
relationships and increase agriculture finance. Prior to joining
Hitachi, Ubhi held positions at First Rate Exchange Services and
Focus International Property. Dixon joins from Hitachi Capital’s
high value collections department.

BVRLA

The BVRLA has appointed Elliot
Lennick as new chairman of its commercial vehicle committee.
Lennick is CEO of MAN Financial Services with responsibility for
Northern, Eastern and Western Europe. In 2000, he established the
UK arm of MAN Financial Services, which now manages 10,000 trucks.
The association has also appointed Alison Chadwick as new
chairwoman for the BVRLA rental committee. She is director of
regional operations for Thrifty Car and Van Rental.

 

De Lage Landen

International has appointed William Stephenson as chairman, global
vendor finance, reporting to CEO Ronald Slaats. Stephenson has more
than 25 years experience in vendor finance and has held senior
positions within DLL since 1987.

Three other high-profile
appointments have also been made at DLL’s global vendor finance
business. Amy Nelson has been appointed chief financial officer,
Carlo van Kemenade has been made chief commercial officer and
Timothy MacCarrick is chief operating officer. Nelson and
MacCarrick will be based in Wayne, Pennsylvania, while van Kemenade
will be based in Eindhoven. All three will report to
Stephenson.

 

UniCredit Leasing

UniCredit Leasing’s board of
directors has appointed Ivan Lo Bello as its new chairman. Lo Bello
replaces Vittorio Ogliengo, UniCredit top manager responsible for
financing and advisory, who remains on the board as deputy
chairman. Lo Bello is also chairman of Confindustria Sicilia, part
of Italian employers’ federation Confindustria.

UniCredit Leasing has also
appointed Fabrizio Rollo as new CEO for its Russian subsidiary. The
new Russian management team also includes Christoph Siegl, chief
financial officer; Natalia Matveeva, chief risk officer; and
Alexander Klyuev, head of sales.

 

VR Leasing

over as the new CEO of German lessor VR Leasing, succeeding
Reinhard Goedel. Graband was previously CEO of TeamBank, a DZ Bank
subsidiary which is active in the German consumer credit market.
His past experiences include acting in an MD role with BMW Bank and

Finance

Media finance specialist
Fineline has appointed Simon Curlew as area sales manager, and
Richard Ivey as accounts executive administrator. Curlew has 20
years’ experience in asset finance and banking and has worked at
Lombard, HSBC, Barclays and Bank of Scotland. Ivey joins from
insurance company Alico Wealth Management; before that, he spent
four years at ING Lease.

 

Fleet Alliance

UK fleet company Fleet Alliance
has recruited Chris Renshaw as national client development
executive, responsible for fleet sales. He joins from
Blackburn-based leasing company MNH Platinum, where he was key
account manager.

 

ACEA

Europe’s umbrella association
for vehicle manufacturers ACEA has elected Alfredo Altavilla as new
chairman for the commercial vehicle board. Altavilla is CEO of
Italian truck manufacturer Iveco.

 

International Decision
Systems

Asset finance software provider
International Decision Systems (IDS) has appointed Michael Campbell
as its new CEO, succeeding interim CEO Tom Thomas. Campbell has
more than 27 years of software development and technology
experience. Prior to joining IDS, he was an executive
vice-president and chief operating officer at credit scoring
specialist Fair Isaac. His previous experience includes a senior
vice president and general manager role at SAP America. He founded
Campbell Software, which was acquired by SAP in 1999.

 

Invigors

Invigors’ founding partner Peter
Hunt has left the company to join Royal Bank of Scotland. The
company is also launching Invigors France and has appointed Paul
Johnson-Ferguson, formerly a finance director at GE Equipment
Finance France, to run the new business.

 

LeasePlan
Corporation

LeasePlan has named Sven Huster
as its new chief operating officer from 1 April, succeeding Hans
Peter Lützenkirchen who is to retire from the company. Huster joins
from Volkswagen Financial Services, where he held positions of
chief operating officer and chief information officer. From 1
April, the managing board of LeasePlan Corporation will consist of:
Vahid Daemi, chairman and CEO; Guus Stoelinga, chief financial
officer; and Huster.

 

Merkantil Bank

OTP Bank, Hungary’s largest
lender, has named Laszlo Utassy as new CEO for its leasing and car
financing unit Merkantil Bank. Utassy served as chairman of OTP
Garancia Insurance between 1996 and 2008. He has been a member of
OTP Bank’s board of directors since 2001 and a member of the board
of Merkantil Bank since 2009.
