Financing to be provided to hundreds
of vendor partners and resellers across Europe.

Germany’s BFL Leasing, a VR Leasing
subsidiary specialising in IT and telecoms financing, announced a
new partnership agreement with Düsseldorf-based comTeam, a division
of IT reseller ElectronicPartner Group, last month.

BFL said it will support comTeam in its
distribution strategy across the whole of Germany, benefitting more
than 250 comTeam vendor partners as well as hundreds of
ElectronicPartner specialist resellers.

The cooperation between VR Leasing and comTeam
will focus on all aspects of IT financing, from cancellable lease
agreements to so-called “project leasing”.

BFL Leasing also said it will offer comTeam
customers financing for hardware, software and installation
services, all in the same agreement.

Where required, it will also offer an online
system – called VPOS – to allow vendor partners to do business on
the spot, at the point of sale.

ComTeam head of sales Sven Glatter said BFL
Leasing was comTeam’s “first choice” because of the lessor’s
experience in the German IT financing sector.

Stressing that providing leasing to customers
would mean more sales channels for comTeam, BFL Leasing sales
manager Rainer Pietschmann said: “By cooperating we can oppose the
current investment backlog in the industry, and do something really
effective.”

BFL Leasing managing director Rainer Gessler
said he believed 2010 would be “the year of IT financing”, and also
the year of specialist lessors rather than generalist lessors, as
businesses will need industry-specific know-how more than ever
before.

Gessler added that, although the financial
crisis was not yet over, “many companies are looking for ways to
increase productivity and reduce costs, so we think IT will have a
key role this year.”

Companies will need constant replacement and
new investments in IT assets, which will “need to be financed”,
Gessler said.

• ElectronicPartner is a specialist
retail brand. The company works with over 5,000 specialist
resellers in six European countries (Germany, Austria, Belgium,
Italy, Switzerland and the Netherlands).

The company has three strategic business
segments: specialist retail, specialist stores and B2B

ComTeam focuses on the third group, business
customers who are looking for professional “IT and telecoms
integrators” – whose services include consulting, planning, network
and communication platforms, as well as the delivery of hardware
and software to turnkey IT and telecommunication projects.

In 2009, EP increased its sales volume from
€1.48 billion to almost €1.5 billion.
