DLL wins Microsoft Financing deal in 3 EU countries

The Dutch lessor which served as an interim finance provider for Microsoft since July 2009 has just signed long-term agreements with the software giant covering Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, as well as Australia and New Zealand. According to a spokesman, the previous agreement between DLL and Microsoft Financing also included a contingency plan that was designed to provide a rapid response coverage model, which would allow the software company to use DLL while assessing and completing arrangements with other finance providers

Agrileasing gets ?300 million from EIB (Free)

Italys Banca Agrileasing is to get 327 million from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to support the countrys small and medium-sized sector, it has just been announced. Under the terms of the agreement, Banca Agrileasing as well as the banking network of the lessors parent Banche di Credito Cooperativo (BCC) will make available the EIB loans through finance leasing operations of up to 12.5 million each

US leasing drops one third in 2009 (Free)

FGA Capital chooses White Clarke Group (Free)

FGA Capital has completed the implementation of White Clarke Groups point-of-sale solution CALMS. The captive, a joint venture between Italys car manufacturer Fiat and Crdit Agricole, has recently taken over the Jaguar Land Rover brands and needed to implement a rapid solution for the new business. WCG said the major challenge was an immovable deadline with just a three-month delivery window, but the software house managed to deploy the CALMS application on time.

Caja Rural offers “preferred finance” to professionals (Free)

Spains Caja Rural de Toledo is making available 60 million to local veterinarians and to the pharmaceutical sector through loans and lease agreements. The bank, part of Spains cooperative credit group Grupo Caja Rural, said it recently signed agreements for preferred finance with two industry trade associations, Asociacin de Farmacuticos Empresarios de Toledo (AFEDETO) and the Colegio Oficial de Veterinarios de Toledo

Deutsche Bank and Lloyds Banking Group might reconsider selling their stakes in Porterbrook Leasing, it has been reported. Citing sources familiar with negotiations, Financial News magazine said that the two banking groups have opted for not selling their shares in the UK train leasing company.

UK haulier orders 25 Scania tractors (Free)

Spalding-based Garn Transport has ordered 25 Scania R 440 twin-steer tractors to be delivered this year The vehicles are being supplied by Scania Limiteds Spalding depot on full five year contract hire agreements. The deal follows an order by Garn Transport during 2009 for 8 trucks which were the first Euro 5 Scania vehicles in Garns fleet

CV registration drop eases across Europe (Free)

CV registrations around Europe dropped 32.4 percent in 2009 compared with 2008, figures from the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) have shown. December registrations were 10.6 percent down, reflecting a less sharp decrease in the van market in the last months of the year (down 6.3 percent in December). Within the light commercial vehicle segment, the Spanish and French markets recorded positive figures of 19.7 and 15.3 percent for the month respectively

BPLG wins Microsoft Financing deal (Free)

BNP Paribas Lease Group (BPLG) has won a contract with software giant Microsoft over its Microsoft Financing programme in four European countries. The French lessor will provide financing solutions to both Microsofts direct SME-sized customers and customers serviced by resellers in France, Germany, Italy and Switzerland.

UK used van prices still up in December 2009 (Free)

Used van prices increased by 0.3 percent to £3,694 in December 2009 compared with November, Manheim Auctions monthly van market analysis has shown Manheim Auctions CV sales director Alex Wright said: Despite the economic environment, the used van marketplace has remained robust with average used van values having increased by almost 50 percent in the last 12 months, despite age and mileage being higher year-on-year.
