Used van prices increased by 0.3 percent to
£3,694 in December 2009 compared with November, Manheim Auctions’
monthly van market analysis has shown. This is the fifth month in a
row that average values have increased, the auctioneer said.

Manheim Auctions’ CV sales director Alex
Wright said: “Despite the economic environment, the used van
marketplace has remained robust with average used van values having
increased by almost 50 percent in the last 12 months, despite age
and mileage being higher year-on-year.”

He said that the outlook for the used van
market in 2010 remains positive, because having had fewer van
registrations “plays into the hands of the used van market, as the
continued shortage of supply will keep values high.”

Compared with December 2008, used van prices
are up by 46.3 percent, with average age up by three months to 56
months.
