In November 2009, citing sources close to the
deal, Leasing Life had already revealed that BPLG was the frontrunner in the bid to win the
contract with Microsoft.

Two other major bank-owned lessors, Key
Equipment Finance International (KEF) and SG Equipment Finance
(SGEF), were understood to be in negotiations with the software
giant to win the contract.

Commenting on the agreement, BPLG’s head of IT
and telecom Joseph Pulicano said that the lessor was “proud to be
working with Microsoft Financing and to contribute to Microsoft
Financing’s development across the major European markets”.

He said that the company’s strong in-country
involvement would “contribute to the success of this
programme”.
