Slow start for Britain’s CV registrations

CV registrations were 11.4 percent down in January 2010 compared with a year ago, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). A total of 11,546 vans were registered in January, a 1.7 percent drop compared with January 2009. The SMMT said that the outlook is worse for truck registrations, which sank by 48.8 percent in January 2010, with a total of 1,553 new trucks being registered.

Axa develops new end of lease insurance products (Free)

A new end of lease insurance product has been developed by Axa Assistance, in collaboration with Complectus, a claims management solutions business Leasing companies that have an end of term obligation to return vehicles in a certain condition will be covered for damages such as scuffs, chips and small dents.

SFS: NHS should release “frozen capital” (Free)

Leasing companies could provide vital support to the NHS by releasing the public bodys frozen capital, according to a recent report published by Siemens Financial Services (SFS). The report, Frozen Capital in Healthcare: An Update, estimates that £1.8 billion (2.1 billion) of NHS capital is tied up inefficiently, adding that future shortfalls in public coffers may force the public body to seek more cost-effective means of funding technology.
