Italy’s B2F and Westcon sign vendor agreement (Free)
Italys Business2Finance (B2F), an online finance portal, has recently signed an agreement with Westcon Group, the US-headquartered distributor of networking and communication technologies. B2Fs general manager Claudio Mombelli said: Weve recently won a number of significant deals, including this one with Westcon for their Italian market.
Raiffeisen Leasing gets ?60 million from EIB (Free)
The European Investment Bank (EIB) is lending Raiffeisen-Leasing International 60 million for its divisions in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia. Raiffeisen Leasings unit in Bosnia and Herzegovina will get 40 million, while the Serbian unit is to get the remaining 20 million, Raiffeisen said.
Moody’s says Italian leasing market continues to deteriorate (Free)
Italys leasing asset-backed securities market continued to deteriorate in November 2009, according to a report by Moodys Investor Service. The rating agency said that the net default index rose to 2.3 percent, which represents a 42 percent increase from November 2008.
Leaseurope: Europe’s leasing 36 percent down in H1 2009 (Free)
Britains and Germanys leasing markets were still Europes largest leasing markets in H1 2009, but lost significant business volume, Leaseurope statistics have shown. According to Europes umbrella association for the leasing industry, Germanys new leasing volumes were 19.65 billion in the first half of 2009, a 23 percent fall on 2008 figures. The UK leasing market was second in terms of total volumes closely following Germany with 19.63 billion taking exchange rates into account but dropped almost 30 percent in absolute terms.
Cassiopae in Tunisian joint venture with OXIA
Lease software provider Cassiopae and OXIA Tunisia, a North African consulting services group, have launched a joint venture for the Africa and Middle East markets. The new venture, Cassiopae MEA, will be led by Jemil Ben Romdhane, who joined Cassiopae in 2007 and has been responsible for the development of Cassiopaes latest version of its front office product
Isuzu wins deal with ALD (Free)
Associated London Distribution (ALD) has ordered 8 new Isuzu 7.5 tonners for its fleet. The new trucks are being supplied on a four year contract hire deal through Maidstone, Kent-based MC Group
Daimler and BMW reduced US leasing business in 2009 (Free)
German vehicle manufacturers Daimler and BMW reduced their leasing business in the US in 2009 to reduce losses, according to German business daily Handelsblatt According to the newspaper, which cited BMW sales chief Ian Robertson and Daimler sales chief Joachim Schmidt, both companies reduced their leasing business to around 50 percent, from 60 and 70 percent respectively.

UK commercial vehicle registrations 36% down in 2009 (Free)
UK registrations for new vans and trucks were 36.2 percent down in 2009 compared to the previous year, data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) have shown Over the year, vans dropped 35.6 percent to 186,386 units, while trucks declined almost 40 percent to 34,746 units. Van demand dropped sharply in 2009 but it eased at the year-end, reaching a minus 14.3 percent in December.
SG Equipment Finance in ?30m hospital deal
SG Equipment Finance (SGEF) will lead the largest leasing operation in Spains private health sector, it has been announced. Vinalop Salud, which manages the regional health department, is overseeing the construction of the hospital now at its final stage and has awarded the contract to SGEF.
