Hitachi Capital to provide 41 specialist vehicles

Hitachi Capital Commercial Vehicle Services has won a deal with Connaught Environmental to provide 41 specialist vehicles worth over £2m (2.4m) in total. Connaught Environmental, part of Connaught plc, which operates in the UK social housing and public sector markets, will use the vehicles to carry out work with local authority street cleaning depots in Wandsworth, Mendip, Norwich and the Isle of Wight. Hitachi Capital will provide the funding for the new specialist fleet, which includes road sweepers, cage tippers of various sizes, 7.5-tonne refuse collection vehicles, gully emptiers to clean gutters and a timber recycler.

Arcus Engineering chooses Volkswagen and Lex Autolease

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has won a £1.7m van deal with Arcus Engineering, which operates the refrigeration maintenance contract in the South East for Sainsburys supermarkets. Wendy Williamson, commercial sales manager at Volkswagen LCV dealer Abridge Van Centre in Loughton, Essex, commented: We continually work hard on providing a high level of customer service and developing our links with local businesses and we believe this acquisition is evidence of that.
