Asset finance users fare better than most

Crdit Agricole Leasing & Factoring (CAL&F) has appointed a new CEO after the departure of Olivier Toussaint in March.Philippe Carayol, currently deputy CEO of Caisse Rgionale de Crdit Agricole Aquitaine, one of the French financing giants regional banking networks, will take up the role on 1 September.Carayol started his career in 1982 at Caisse Rgionale de Crdit Agricole de Charente, and became director for the corporate market in 1991, then director of the sales network in 1997.He moved to Caisse Rgionale de la Gironde in 1999 as director of the sales network and was appointed deputy CEO of Caisse Rgionale Charente Maritime Deux Svres in 2002

Porterbrook refinances debt

Global insurance company MetLife has loaned £250m (280m) to UK-based rolling stock leasing company Porterbrook. Porterbrook has 1,800 passenger vehicles and over 2,000 new freight vehicles for lease to UK train operating companies. MetLife insures 70m customers across the Americas, Asia Pacific and Europe
