Slovenian lessor VUB Leasing posted a loss of €5 million in the first half of 2009, compared with a profit of €1.4 million in the same period last year.
VUB Leasing said that it had not reached the planned volume of deals, which had a direct impact on revenue; but that it was hopeful that it would fulfil its business plan in the next six months.
The lessor signed new contracts worth €44.5 million, around half of what it signed in the same period last year.
Of this new business, financial leasing fell particularly strongly, by 63 percent, to €26.3 million. This was especially felt in vehicle, machine and equipment financing, VUB Leasing said.
