Europe’s CV registrations were 9.1 percent up
in April 2010 compared to one year before, according to the
European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA).
The growth mostly reflected a rise in LCV
registrations – which recorded a 13.7 increase over April 2009 (to
124,704 units). All major markets posted a growth – from 6 percent
in the UK to over 30 percent in France and Spain.
Commercial vehicles between 3.5 tonnes and 16
tonnes, however, were 11.3 percent down to 19,501 units. Most major
markets posted a drop, with the UK and Italy dropping over 17
percent.
The heavier segment also posted a 11 percent
drop to 13,421 units. Among the largest markets, only Spain posted
a growth (by 12 percent).
