Used van values have recovered in May after a slight decrease in
April, according to British Car Auctions (BCA).

The vehicle remarketing company recorded a month improvement of
£122 to reach £3,595.

BCA said that demand for light vans has been very strong since
January 2009 and forecasts that values will remain firm over the
summer months.

The lowest point for used vans was achieved in December 2008,
when values dropped to £2,772.

With the increases recorded during the first six months of 2009,
average values are now starting to approach last year’s market peak
of £3,868.

BCA also said that last month nearly new van values dropped by
£481 to £8,556, while there were increases in value for fleet and
lease vans by £159 to £3,938.
