The European Investment Bank (EIB) has
provided UniCredit Leasing with four loans totalling €360m to
support small and medium-sized businesses via leasing
schemes. 

The four loans cover UniCredit Leasing’s
subsidiaries in Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia. The
German subsidiary gets €150m, while the others will have €70m
each.

EIB vice-president Matthias Kollatz-Ahnen
said: “The EIB has a record of excellent cooperation with UniCredit
Leasing in order to increase the productivity and competitive
capacity of this economic sector to help it better to face the
current difficult times.”

The lessor’s CEO Massimiliano Moi added: “The
strategic partnership with the EIB enables UniCredit Leasing to
constantly provide a fundamental support for SMEs and mid-cap
companies in the form of additional fresh funds, in an economic
context in which interest rates for regular loans are still
high.”

In the past two years, the EIB has provided
SMEs in the CEE region with more than €555m in intermediated loans
via UniCredit Leasing.
