Steiermarkische Bank und Sparkassen has set up a leasing arm in
Macedonia, S-Leasing Skopje.
The Austrian bank will invest €10 million during the first year
of the new company’s operation, a spokesperson said. The lessor
will offer both finance and operating leases for passenger and
cargo vehicles, boats, machinery as well as construction and
industrial equipment.
Sasa Boko, a director at S-Leasing, said: “We believe in the
potential of the Macedonian market and with our competitive
services and experience we want to help the development of the
country’s economy.”
Steiermarkische Bank, which is 25 percent owned by Erste Bank,
will hold a 90 percent shareholding in the new lessor. The
remainder will be held by Investbanka AD, a Macedonian company in
which Steiermarkische Bank is also a 96 percent shareholder.
