Star Asset Finance has appointed Steve Swift, current managing director of Kennet Equipment Leasing, as Star Asset Finance group chief executive officer.

Star has been acquiring businesses since July 2014, when it acquired Kennet Equipment Leasing,

Kennet was followed by Ignition Credit in March 2015, and First Capital Finance in December 2015.

As group chief executive, Swift will work with the teams at Kennet, Ignition and First Capital to continue the successful growth and development of the group.

Swift said; "I am looking forward to working more closely with the directors and founders of both Ignition and First Capital, as we capitalise on our individual strengths and build a brand under Star that will be able to take advantage of the many opportunities that exist in the UK SME asset finance market."

Sam Geneen, chairman at Star, said of the appointment "Since July 2014, Star has acquired three of the most successful UK SME finance companies. Our next step is to ensure that each company is allowed to continue their impressive growth whilst bringing economies of scale and efficiencies to the group. Steve is experienced in driving businesses forward and is ideally suited to his new role".
