The joint venture between India’s SREI
Infrastructure Finance Ltd and BNP Paribas Lease Group, announced
last year, will begin operations today, the partners said.
Last year, both parties entered into a 50:50 joint venture to
form an asset finance division aimed at providing finance for
infrastructure equipment.
SREI lists several government owned financial institutions and
development institutions as its stakeholders. Among them are the
World Bank’s private investment arm, International Finance
Corporation Washington, the German government’s KfW Germany and DEG
Germany, FMO of the Netherlands, BIO Belgium and FINFUND of
Finland.
