Italy’s Sardaleasing will get €150 million from the European Investment Bank (EIB), it has been announced.
The EIB is lending Italian banking group Banca Popolare dell’Emilia Romagna (BPER) and its Sardinia-headquartered leasing subsidiary a total of €300 million for Italian-based SMEs active in the agriculture, industry, tourism and services sectors.
Corrado Savigni, corporate director at BPER, said that the new credit line confirms BPER’s commitment to support enterprises across Italy and follows a number of similar initiatives in favour of struggling SMEs.
The credit lines will also be used for projects in renewable energy and environment.
