Ryder has appointed Ian Dennis as UK business development director to promote the business to UK fleet operators.

Dennis has over 20 years of experience in asset finance and leasing, having worked for a range of funders including Lombard, Barclays and GE Capital.

Most recently, Dennis was responsible for UK and European business development for Rothschild’s Five Arrows Asset Finance Outsourcing division.

Dennis said: "I’m delighted to be joining Ryder, a leading provider of commercial vehicle rental, contract hire, maintenance and dedicated delivery solutions.

"In this role my focus will be on further developing and building Ryder’s business with fleet operators in the UK, particularly looking at how we can support with fleet acquisition opportunities. Fleet operators face a range of challenges including rising costs, ageing fleets, and maintaining compliance and uptime. With Ryder’s strength and experience we can bring forward complete transportation solutions enabling customers to concentrate on their core business, while Ryder manages their transportation demands."
