Bibby Financial Services (BFS) has made interim group risk director Ian Ramsden’s position permanent, after taking the role in November following the departure of Mark Hartigan.

First joining BFS in 2005, Ramsden held the position of UK risk director until November 2015, when he took-on responsibility for the group risk function on an interim basis.

Bibby said Ramsden has 27 years’ experience in banking and asset based lending, and prior to joining BFS, held the position of head of large client audit at Barclays, leading a team involved in structuring and managing facilities for corporate clients.

BFS highlighted Ramden’s lead on the funder’s securitisation of its loan book last year.

David Postings, global chief executive at BFS said: "Ian has been critical to the growth and development of BFS in the UK over recent years so I’m delighted to have him on board in a global capacity."
