UK used van prices increased by 4.2 percent,
or £179 (€210), in April compared with March figures, according to
Manheim Remarketing.

The auction house said that average prices are
now 15 percent higher than in January 2010. When compared with
April 2009, values show a 43.8 percent increase, Manheim said.

Manheim Auctions’ general manager for
commercial vehicles James Davis said: “The price recovery has been
particularly evident in the major volume segment of the market –
the large panel van – and has been fuelled by a wholesale supply
shortage.”

He added that, however, there is evidence that
van de-fleet volumes are increasing, “which will put pressure on
values in the weeks to come”.
