Robert Gordon has been appointed chief executive officer for Hitachi Capital (UK) Group, effective 1 April 2015.
This follows the move of current chief executive officer and Hitachi Capital corporation executive officer for Europe and the Americas, Chris Shirai, to focus more directly on the organisation’s activities in the United States and Canada.

Shirai assumes an additional role of chairman and chief executive for Hitachi Capital America, and from 1 April will serve on the Hitachi Capital UK Group board in the capacity of a non-executive director representing Hitachi Capital Corporation.
Robert Gordon has over 30 years’ experience within the finance industry. Gordon joined Hitachi Capital (UK) on 16 January 2006 as managing director of business finance, before joining the board as group finance director in September of the same year; steering the direction, strategy and M&A activity of the Group. Gordon was then appointed to the position of chief operating officer in June 2011.
