Hampshire Trust Bank has appointed Paul Barter as business development manager in its asset finance team.
Barter will be based in Sale, Greater Manchester, and will focus on maintaining existing and building new broker relationships in the north of England, north Wales and Scotland.
Barter has 10 years’ experience in asset finance, working as a new car sales executive at Mercedes Benz in Macclesfield and in the Manchester area for Black Horse and motor finance broker DSG Financial Services.

Indeed, figures released by the Finance & Leasing Association this month show that asset finance new business, primarily leasing and hire purchase, grew by 3% in September, compared with the same month last year, the 24th consecutive month of growth. Hampshire Trust Bank’s asset finance team offer hire purchase and leasing, managing deals ranging from £5k to £200k, offering finance for cars and light commercial vehicles for business or private use, as well as a range of plant and machinery.
