GE’s Tip Trailer Services has been chosen as the preferred
supplier of ambient and refrigerated trailers for ASDA.
The UK retailer has extended until the end of 2009 its
relationship with the GE division for transportation and
logistics, securing with it its trailer requirements for both
ambient and temperature controlled products.

The contract covers the supply of reefer trailers, box trailers
and curtainsiders. TIP Trailer Services will also provide a fleet
of mobile service units that will be undertaking service work at
ASDA locations.
As part of the agreement, TIP Trailer Services has created a
specific team to ensure service levels are maintained to all 22
ASDA depots.
John Murray, the lessor’s MD for UK and Ireland, said: “Our
business levels with ASDA have grown steadily over the past five
years and by working closely with their management team, we have
been able to offer them a competitive trailer rental package for
2009, with full national support to each depot.”
