John Allbrook has joined the board as chairman of Franchise Finance, a company that supplies finance to the franchise industry.

Allbrook’s career in asset finance spans 26 years, including senior directorial roles at Sun Microsystems and GE Capital, and as chief executive officer at GoIndustry between 2004 and 2009.

Allbrook became chairman of Syscap in 2010, up to 2015, and oversaw the asset finance provider’s sale to the Wesleyan Group last year.

According to Franchise Finance’s site, the business was founded in 1979 by Nick Potter, a specialist in printing equipment finance who was involved in financing Prontaprint’s graphics equipment package for its franchisees as it rolled out its network across the UK,

Franchise Finance director Stuart Walsh worked with Allbrook at GE and said: "His experience in ensuring that the right people, technology and strategy foundations are in place will be of paramount importance to the business as we embark on the next phase of growth here at Franchise Finance."
