IT specialist CGI Group has extended to 2017 its contract with
Berlin-headquartered Daimler Financial Services to provide a full
end-to-end applications management service for Daimler FS’
international vehicle asset financing.

The multi-million, five-year contract extension follows an
agreement already signed last year between CGI and the captive arm
of the German vehicle manufacturer.

Daimler FS’ director for IT financial services and sales Markus
Sontheimer said: “CGI has been a long term partner of Daimler FS
and we will further develop our working relationship to share our
goals and provide quality services.

“We expect to maximize on CGI’s knowledge and expertise and work
together to help DFS remain the first choice provider of financial
services for our dealers and customers.”

CGI said it is also commercialising Daimler’s vehicle asset
financing platform Phoenix – which was specifically developed to
meet Daimler FS’ retail financing need and which CGI acquired last
year – for the worldwide vehicle finance market.
