Bombardier Transportation and AB Transitio, a Swedish rolling stock company, have agreed on the delivery of 11 three-car trains.
The deal is valued at approximately €96 million and includes an option for five additional trains, the Berlin-headquartered company said.
The Bombardier CONTESSA trains will be leased by Swedish operators Länstrafiken Kronoberg, Kalmar Läns Trafik and Hallandstrafiken
The new trains will run in the Oresund region, between Sweden and Denmark, and will be managed by local traffic authorities co-operating in Oresund and Trafikstyrelsen in Denmark.
AB Transitio’s MD Bo Fredriksson said: “CONTESSA trains are already part of our fleet and we are pleased to increase the number of CONTESSA vehicles in order to respond to passenger growth in the Oresund traffic.”
The total number of Bombarider trains ordered by Swedish and Danish customers has now reached 111, Bombardier said.
