Wyelands Bank has appointed a renewables specialist to its asset finance team as it launches its offering for the renewable energy sector.

Mark Turrell will assume the role, focusing developing the bank’s offer to help support renewable energy firms to access finance and unlock growth.

His appointment is part of the bank’s strategy to help renewables and manufacturing businesses to trade and grow through the right combination of simple but specialist asset finance solutions.   Turrell will report to the managing director of asset finance, Jim Higginbotham.

Turrell joins with 25 years’ experience in the finance industry, with significant expertise in the renewables sector. He joins from Capitas Finance where he was an executive director focused on renewables energy and energy efficiency projects.

He has previously held senior roles for Lloyds Banking Group, where he was a business development director for commercial banking mid-markets.  He also worked for GE Capital as head of business development, equipment finance.

Turrell said: “Renewable energy firms have very specific challenges so Wyelands Bank’s understanding of the sector and willingness to take a flexible approach to find the most appropriate solution will work well for the sector.
