An appointment has been made to the role of head of fleet in Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, replacing David Hanna who recently took over as head of service and parts for the brand.

Replacement to the role is Claire English, who has been with the Volkswagen Group since she joined the company on a graduate scheme in 2003, gaining experience in sales operations and marketing with both Skoda and Volkswagen Passenger Cars. Most recently, as national contract hire and Leasing Manager, she has been an integral member of the Volkswagen Passenger Cars fleet team, playing a key role in the ongoing development of the brand’s fleet strategy.

Commenting on her appointment, James Douglas, head of sales operations for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, said: “I’m looking forward to welcoming Claire to our brand, and I am sure that her depth of operational fleet knowledge, complemented by her passion for customer experience, will make her a valuable addition to the team.”

In her new role, English will be responsible for all fleet sales, through the five area sales managers and key and central account managers, rental and leasing managers and the local business development managers within the brand’s 72 Van Centres.

English will start her new role at the end of June. Her successor in Volkswagen Passenger Cars will be appointed and announced in due course.

At the beginning of the year Volkswagen AG and Ford Motor Company made formal agreements to work together in producing commercial vehicles globally.
