Pulse Cashflow Finance has announced the appointment of Martyn Freshwater to the role of regional director to support the growth plans of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the UK’s Midlands and Central region.

Freshwater (pictured below) brings over 30 years of experience and extensive knowledge of the finance sector, having held both regional and leadership roles with both mainstream banks and independent funding providers.

The majority of his career was spent at Lloyds Commercial Finance moving on to enjoy spells at Investec, Bibby Financial Services and Advantedge Commercial Finance before joining Pulse Cashflow.

As a specialist in invoice finance, Martyn will provide expert support to SMEs who are focusing on recovering from the last 12 months, the company said.

Speaking of his appointment, Martyn said: “Pulse Cashflow is dedicated to providing funding solutions to SMEs, and I am delighted to join them at an exciting point in their development. The Midlands has a strong business community but cities in the region have been hit hard by the pandemic with economies shrinking by 11.7% in 2020.

“However, the latest GVA figures suggest a growth of 4.8% or higher for 2021. Speaking to Pulse I have been genuinely impressed with their pragmatic and committed approach to supporting businesses and their genuine desire to build open and transparent relationships with their clients.

“It is crucial that we continue to provide SMEs with the very best support to help them grow over the coming months and years. I’m looking forward to working with a successful team to achieve this,” he said.

Martin Bennison, sales and marketing director, said: “Martyn is a great addition to the team and brings a credible reputation for working with businesses to support their funding needs. We are seeing an increase in businesses looking for funding support as they move forward and look to take advantage of the opportunities arising.

“His wealth of experience will prove valuable as we continue to demonstrate our ambition and flexibility in delivering funding to support the growth of businesses across the UK and we are absolutely delighted to have him on board.  With a healthy level of funding available, we are looking forward to helping more SMEs realise their growth plans.”
