Specialist in mobility leasing Alphabet earns top HR gong

By Alejandro Gonzalez

Alphabet (GB) Limited, a leasing and mobility business based in Hampshire, has been recognised for its top-notch workplace environment by the Top Employers Institute.

Alphabet was granted ‘Top Employers United Kingdom 2020 Certification’ at an event on 30 January, in what the group said was the seventh consecutive year it has been recognised for its “excellent employee conditions.”

Organisations certified as Top Employers dedicate themselves to providing the very best working environment for employees through their progressive ‘people-first’ HR practices, the group said in a statement.

The Top Employers Institute has certified and recognised more than 1,600 Top Employers in 119 countries across five continents, according to the Netherlands-based global certification body.

The Institute assessed Alphabet’s approach in HR strategy, people management and employment practices.

David Plink, the chief executive of the Top Employers Institute, said, ‘To become recognised as a Top Employer, an organisation will have to prove that the implementation of their people strategies enriches the world of work of their employees. The certified participants are a shining example of dedication to people practices as they continuously commit to empowering their employees for a better world of work.

Stefan Oswald, chief financial officer at Alphabet, said, “Attracting and retaining talent has always been key, but equally important is engaging our employee community with our company’s core purpose to deliver successful business performance, enhanced customer experience and improved customer satisfaction. So this award is recognition for the personal contribution and commitment of all of our 400-plus employees working in the UK and the significant value they add to our business and to our customer relationships.”

Alphabet’s portfolio covers vehicle funding and fleet management. The company manages a fleet of over 138,000 vehicles in the UK and more than 700,000 vehicles across 30 countries worldwide.
