UK challenger bank Shawbrook has opened a midlands regional business centre in Birmingham and appointed Nick Leitch as regional managing director for the Midlands.

The centre is the first of Shawbrook’s regional business centres which they intend to roll out across the UK over the next six months.

Leitch will be responsible for developing relationships regionally within specialist sectors, and working with existing teams to create a strong regional base. He will report to Tim Hawkins, who will lead the business centre network.

Leitch joined Shawbrook from SME investment advisory Seneca where he led the Midlands operation.

Prior to this, Leitch worked in private equity at Endless LLP, and once served as a director with Ernst & Young.

Leitch said: “I am delighted to have joined Shawbrook at the outset of the group creating this regional platform.
