Siemens Financial Services (SFS) has hosted its first broker event, providing a panel discussion for its brokers and block discounting customers.
Held on January 12 in London, the three panels discussed digitalisation, Brexit, and how to enhance collaboration in the industry. The event was attended by 45 delegates and representatives from the Finance and Leasing Association (FLA).
Emma Thomas, head of sales – block and brokers, Siemens Financial Services said that the discussion had opened up areas where the industry sought more collaboration. Specifically, she said, the topic of adapting to respond to upcoming challenges.
She said: “We identified a number of issues that the industry is keen to collaborate on, such as how the asset finance sector can adapt to the future world. We are hopeful that we’ve prompted a number of ongoing discussions.”
Robert Marshall, operations director, Bibby Leasing hoped that the event would enhance industry cooperation.
Marshall said: “Hopefully it can get the ball rolling in terms of collaboration. I think if nothing else it has created an awareness of the importance in discussing these issues as an industry.”
Siemens Financial Services says there are plans for a further event.
