Northgate chairman Philip
Rogerson
is to step down at the end of the year, the van
hire company has announced. Rogerson will join the board of Bunzl,
the distribution and outsourcing group, as chairman-designate on 1
January 2010, and become chairman on 1 March.
He joined the Northgate board in November 2003 and was appointed
chairman in June 2007. The company, which operates in the van
rental business in Spain and the UK, has just begun the process of
finding a successor.

Toyota Financial Services
(UK)

Toyota Financial Services UK has
announced the retirement of its managing director,
David
Betteley
.

Betteley, who is leaving for personal reasons, joined the vehicle
maker in 1998, when the company decided to set up its captive arm
in the UK. He led the team which set up the captive and was
ultimately responsible for the company’s successful performance in
the UK.
Betteley also steps down from his position of senior vice-president
of Toyota Financial Services Corporation’s Europe and Africa
region.

Siemens financial
Services

James Gearey, the
managing director of Siemens Financial Services in the UK, has also
taken on responsibility for Siemens’ Nordics region. He has been
promoted to CEO Commercial Finance Region North, which comprises
the UK, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark.

Fraikin

CV lessor and fleet management
specialist Fraikin has appointed Steve Foster as
chief financial officer, with direct responsibility for all
finance and ICT (Information & Communication Technology)
functions. He replaces Barry Bowditch, who is
retiring from Fraikin at the end of 2009 after more than 20 years
in the company.
Before joining Fraikin, Foster held the position of finance
director at Welsh Power Group. A qualified chartered accountant, he
has many years of experience in risk management, financial
reporting, planning and ICT.

Renault
UK

Darren Payne
Darren Payne
has joined Renault UK as fleet and commercial
vehicle operations director. He will sit on the
manufacturer's board, reporting to UK managing director
Roland Bouchara. Payne has worked for Hertz and PHH (now Arval),
and spent 14 years at General Motors UK, where he was leasing
manager for the UK, national fleet sales manager for Vauxhall, Saab
and Chevrolet and sales director for GM UK Leasing.
Bouchara said: “I am pleased someone of Darren’s calibre joins us
as we prepare to launch several key models in the coming months.
With a committed and fully-focused team behind him, we are looking
forward to re-asserting our brand in the all-important fleet and
LCV sectors.”

CIT

Jeffrey M Peek,
the chairman and chief executive of CIT group, will resign from his
position on 31 December. It is understood that the company’s board
is currently forming a search committee to oversee the transition
to new leadership.
Peek said: “CIT’s recently launched restructuring plan is designed
to enhance its capital levels, bolster liquidity and return the
company
to profit.
“Now is the appropriate time to focus on a transition of
leadership, and I look forward to working closely with our board
during that process.”
