Scottish fleet company Ogilvie Fleet, part of
the Ogilvie Group, has bought the corporate fleet arm of Northern
Ireland’s ContraFlex Contract Hire and Leasing.

The Stirling-based company reportedly paid a
six-figure sum for the portfolio of 350 cars and vans based in
County Down.

Ogilvie had been acting as a funder to
ContraFlex for the last two years after major funders left the
market.

Gordon Stephen, Ogilvie managing director,
said as the relationship between the two companies developed
Ogilvie decided to fully acquire the corporate arm.

The consumer leasing division will remain with
ContraFlex.

Ogilvie Fleet is based in Stirling and also
has offices in Birmingham and Sheffield.

The NI business will operate from an office in
Carrowreagh Business Park where ContraFlex will continue to run its
personal leasing arm.

Stephen said the deal will make Ogilvie the
only UK-based contract hire and fleet management company with a
base in Northern Ireland and added they intend to grow the NI fleet
to 2,000 vehicles over the next three years.

Ogilvie will also continue to provide funding
to other small fleet leasing companies in the area, said
Stephen.

ContraFlex founder John Henry will work as a
consultant with Ogilvie over the next two years assisting with
customer transition.

He said: “Ogilvie Fleet’s ethos from a
customer service viewpoint is very similar to ours.

“I know customers will not be let down and
that is important to me. In business, customer service is
paramount.”
