Lombard has scooped a series of deals recently involving the
financing of large and unusual assets.

The crane, which cost £4.7 million (€5.1 million), is the
largest of its kind in production by manufacturer Terex Demag. It
is one of only two operating in the UK, and will be the largest
mobile crane ever to be based in Scotland.

PSG managing director Steve Clark said: “This crane offers huge
potential for us to diversify and effectively serve the heavy
lifting requirements of a number of different industry sectors.

“We believe there will be large demand for a crane of this
capacity, which can be deployed at short notice anywhere in the
UK.”

Lombard also provided a £3.4 million funding package to
Cardiff-based television facilities company Omni TV for the lease
of an outside broadcast truck. The funding will allow Omni to
service a three-year contract with BBC Wales, which began with the
truck’s arrival at the Bryn Terfel Festival to cover a four-day
music event.

Lombard’s Richard Tilden worked with Omni’s management
throughout the deal process, from initial deposits to build phase
and on to final commissioning.

Lombard provided a pre-funding lease structure, incorporating
master lease and sale and leaseback elements.

The equipment had to be ordered, paid for and shipped quickly in
order to reduce cost and risks to Omni TV.

Finance was also provided by Lombard in recent weeks to
Manchester-based production company Hullabaloo Studios to enable a
move to a new headquarters worth £300,000.

The deal will fund the acquisition of new sound production
equipment, as well as software and editing equipment to allow the
studio to branch out into visual editing work.
