Leaseurope has announced the start of the 2014 edition of its Future Group programme in Brussels, welcoming 15 "bright talents" from across the European asset and automotive finance industry.

Established in 2013, according to Leaseurope the programme aims to help promising individuals develop innovative ideas to benefit the industry, while nurturing future leaders.

Chris Boobyer, senior partner at Invigors EMEA, described the group as diverse and full of energy and potential.

"I’m extremely pleased to welcome these talented individuals to the programme and am convinced that they have what it takes to deliver outstanding ideas for industry innovations at Leaseurope’s Annual Convention in Barcelona," he said.

The 15 participants will benefit from exposure to senior practitioners within the industry, and will be encouraged to come up with a solution to allow the leasing industry to "harness or integrate to potential of disruptive innovation", such as new manufacturing technologies (3D printing, nano-technology), digital strategies (big data, internet of things), and the so-called ‘circular economy’.

Jacqueline Mills, director of asset finance and research at Leaseurope, said: "Leaseurope would like to thank the companies who have continued to support the Future Group programme by nominating their staff to take part in the 2014 exercise."
