Julian Rose is to step down from his post as head of Asset Finance with the Finance & Leasing Association (FLA), the UK leasing and consumer finance trade body.

Rose joined the FLA in May 2008 when he was appointed to the then newly-created role of head of Asset Finance and Data Policy.

A qualified accountant, Rose previously held roles at the Financial Reporting Council, the Competition Commission, and in a consultancy capacity with KPMG and PwC.

A spokeswoman from the FLA said: "After six years as head of Asset Finance at the FLA, Julian will be leaving in March to set up his own consultancy.

"We will be recruiting a replacement and Julian will help with the hand over.

"We look forward to continuing working with Julian in his new role."

During his time at the FLA, Rose represented the interests of UK leasing industry on key issues such as fraud, the lease accounting changes, education, the UK government’s credit easing schemes and the annual investment allowance.
