Julian Rose is to step down from his post as head of Asset Finance with the Finance & Leasing Association (FLA), the UK leasing and consumer finance trade body.

Rose joined the FLA in May 2008 when he was appointed to the then newly-created role of head of Asset Finance and Data Policy.

A qualified accountant, Rose previously held roles at the Financial Reporting Council, the Competition Commission, and in a consultancy capacity with KPMG and PwC.

A spokeswoman from the FLA said: "After six years as head of Asset Finance at the FLA, Julian will be leaving in March to set up his own consultancy.

"We will be recruiting a replacement and Julian will help with the hand over.

"We look forward to continuing working with Julian in his new role."
