Compass deal for Lex
Lex has won a tender for a two-year
preferred supplier agreement with catering company Compass Group.
The agreement covers Compass’s 800-strong fleet of cars and vans,
and includes ancillary services such as pay-on-use maintenance, a
duty-of-care solution and daily rental alongside the core products
of contract hire and fleet management. Accident management services
will also be included from later this year.

LVM signs up Blue Flame
Penryn-based Blue Flame Ltd, a heating
installation and maintenance company, has acquired 14 new fleet
vehicles through a funding package arranged with Lombard Vehicle
Management, worth £200,000. The new vans have been funded on
contract hire agreements, with full maintenance. The vans have been
delivered with a range of options, including hands-free telephone
integration, a bespoke racking system, roof racks, pipe tubes, fire
extinguishers, first aid kits and hand cleaning systems.
AA fleet deal for Lombard
Lombard Vehicle Management has won a deal
to supply the AA with a dedicated fleet of AA ‘Fuel Assist’ vans.
The vans will come to motorists’ aid following incidents of
mis-fuelling, with the AA estimating that 150,000 motorists per
year put the wrong fuel type into their vehicles. The vehicles will
be provided on a four-year/100,000-mile, fully maintained contract
hire basis. The 20 vans were delivered at the end of March,
following a specialisation process to meet the AA’s build
specification involving 10 suppliers, which was co-ordinated and
overseen by Lombard Vehicle Management.

Fleet leasing and management company ALD
Automotive has won a three-year extension to its contract with The
Places For People Group (TPFPG), which will see the companies’
partnership extended until the end of 2011. ALD Automotive has
provided vehicles and associated vehicle management services to
property management company TPFPG since 2005, with an initial
contract to supply light commercial vehicles extended to cover
company cars. The terms of the newly-extended contract will see ALD
Automotive supply 470 vehicles, including around 400 LCVs, on a
contract hire basis to TPFPG.
