Nick Hoof has been appointed head of healthcare at BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions UK, joining from Siemens Financial Services (SFS).

Hoof spent seven years as healthcare sales manager for SFS, and prior to this spent five years as director of corporate asset finance at Bank of Scotland.

As head of healthcare, Hoof will be responsible for establishing the division in the UK. BNP Paribas said they identified healthcare as a growth market within its three year mid-term plan.

Hoof said leasing could help the NHS, as well as private healthcare providers, to acquire newer technologies and equipment within budget.

He said: “Thankfully, leasing is growing in popularity within the healthcare sector as financial leaders look to explore new ways to acquire equipment.

“As we establish this new division we will be looking to work with NHS lease advisory channels and figure out the best market fit for our services.”

The appointment comes shortly after Jean-Michel Boyer was named head of BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions UK, replacing Tristan Watkins.

Boyer said: “We are delighted to have Nick on board to head up our new healthcare division. The healthcare sector is hugely important in the UK, and our mission is help equipment suppliers, dealers, and manufacturers use finance to sell more effectively to their healthcare customers.”
