Haydock Finance has appointed a specialist credit underwriter to strengthen its agricultural division, the company said.
Vanessa Burger has taken up the newly created role with a remit to support growth and increase the team’s expertise in their agriculture offering.

Vanessa has been involved in both commercial and development finance for agriculture for over 11 years so brings a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience.
Head of Agriculture, Jon Hercman, said, “Vanessa’s role is an important addition to the agriculture team.
“She embodies our hands-on, customer-focused approach and, like all of us, she enjoys helping businesses to innovate and thrive.”
Burger said: “I have always had a passion for agriculture having grown up on a farm in South Africa where my father farmed sugarcane, pigs and poultry. I attended agricultural college and thereafter completed my Bachelor of Accounting Science degree.
“I thrive on feeling part of a farmer’s successes by helping them to fund their ambitions and I am looking forward to putting my knowledge and experience to good use at Haydock.”
Haydock appoints Hercman to spearhead move into agriculture
Haydock Finance was established in 1980 and has a tangible net worth in excess of £20m and gross receivables in excess of £300m, according to the company’s website.
In 2020, the company was accredited by the British Business Bank to offer financing via the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS).
