Grosvenor Leasing, a UK-based contract hire, fleet management and EV salary sacrifice business, has partnered with Targa Telematics to introduce a service, maintenance and repairs (SMR) system designed to reduce vehicle downtime and fleet costs.
The new system, Advanced Remote Connectivity (ARC), enables Grosvenor customers to “optimise operations and drive efficiency” through real-time telematics, integrating connected vehicle data into Grosvenor’s OSCAR fleet management platform, according to a press release.
Data is sourced either via a direct OEM feed or through a device installation, providing instant access to the vehicle’s onboard diagnostics (OBD) system. This allows fleet operators to monitor vehicle health, service schedules and driving behaviours, as well as receive alerts for service countdowns and warning lights, the company said.
According to Grosvenor, this capability will allow maintenance teams to be “triggered on upcoming variable service timings and maintenance issues”, ensuring better service coordination and adherence to manufacturer schedules.
ARC is intended to significantly reduce downtime and manage essential repairs. Additional features include accurate mileage tracking to avoid excess mileage costs, and the identification of high-risk drivers for training interventions to improve safety and reduce collision rates.

Lee Brown, Managing Director of Grosvenor Leasing, said the partnership with Targa Telematics would deliver a “comprehensive, real-time, vehicle data solution” that would support vehicle reliability, reduce costs, and enhance warranty claims. Brown highlighted that over the past year, instances of vehicles being off-road for more than a week had reduced by 37%, adding that the new system aimed to “further drive fleet operations’ efficiencies and enhance downtime management processes”.
