Commercial fleet provider and manager Fraikin has signed a deal with Redhead International, a logistics company based in Bradford, Yorkshire, to provide six trailers.
Fraikin and Redhead were introduced by DB Schenker, a logistics firm and owner of Redhead. DB Schenker and Fraikin previously worked together in mainland Europe, providing vehicles to the logistics arm of German rail company Deutsche Barn.
Four of the new trailers will be used for road freight and pallet network deliveries in the UK and Ireland while the other two will be used for European operations. The fleet deal between Fraikin and Redhead includes a services package covering maintenance, repairs, safety inspections, and breakdown cover.
FraikinView, Fraikin’s web portal, will allow Redhead to schedule and manage fleets, store important documents, and provide progress of breakdowns and services.
David Shepherd, fleet manager at Redhead International, said: “Fraikin made the benefits of contract hire to our business really clear, and then pulled out all the stops to create the perfect deal for us.
“Our trailers can be on the road for up to six weeks at a time before they return to home base, so working with a partner which will proactively schedule the maintenance and servicing around our operational timetable is vitally important.”
