US helps Fleet Logistics break record

European fleet management provider Fleet Logistics’ fleet has reached 137,000 vehicles, which the company has credited to new European business from US-based companies.
Fleet Logistics is currently targeting a fleet size of 145,000 units by the end of 2014, along with an enhanced product range and increased country scope, which the company said it is on course to surpass.
In addition to US companies coming to Europe, Fleet Logistics has expanded its operations into a number of Eastern European countries in the past year, and plans to expand to Turkey are "well advanced". Plans to expand into Israel have had to be temporarily halted.
Fleet Logistics chief executive officer Rainer Laber said: "We are currently seeing around 60-70% of our growth coming from American companies with global businesses in a variety of industry sectors, including pharmaceutical, IT, food and drink, and engineering."

Luxury yachts serviced by VWs for £220k

Volkswagen Group Leasing has reached an agreement with luxury yacht market Sunseeker International to supply eight commercial vehicles, with the possibility of extended the order by a further eight in the future.
The deal, worth over £220,000 (€273,000), will be executed through the VW Group Leasing van dealership Breeze in Poole in the South West United Kingdom.
The first vehicles were delivered in July and will replace existing vehicles in the Sunseeker fleet, as part of the agreement VW group Leasing will be operating a five year service plan and maintenance agreement.

Masters named account director at iVendi

Technology specialist iVendi has appointed Chris Masters to the newly created position of account director, to work exclusively with the top 100 UK dealer groups.
The company said Masters had "an extensive track record" in the motor industry, including time as account director at Auto Trader and head of group sales at motors.co.uk.
He is the tenth appointment in three months for iVendi, which is aiming to double in size by the end of 2014.
Masters said; ""iVendi currently has relationships with more than 1,300 dealers across the UK but we want to increase our penetration among the top 100 groups. That is very much my brief and something that I will be working towards, showing how our technology can successfully drive online activity and sales."

Pearce Bros signs up to 1link

Independent contract hire company Pearce Bros Autorentals has signed up to use fleet technology provider epyx’s e-commerce platform, 1link.
Pearce Bros has sites at Yate and Avonmouth, and employs over 50 staff.
Dave Pearce, Pearce Bros sales director, said the company had signed up to the service to allow customers to book service and maintenance online and to reduce costs.
