Cornerstone Finance Group has appointed John Maude to lead its Commercial Finance business in the Midlands region, marking a step in the company’s expansion strategy.

Maude, a seasoned finance professional from Stafford, will assume the role of Head of Commercial Finance (Midlands), tasked with driving growth in both the team and the client base.

With over 36 years of experience in business and commercial banking, Maude brings leadership skills and a strong track record in financial management to Cornerstone. His career includes significant roles at RBS, later NatWest, where he spent three decades in leadership, culminating in his recent position as Regional Managing Director for the Midlands, South West, and Wales, and subsequently Head of Business Banking Portfolio Management.

Maude said: “I am delighted to be joining Cornerstone Finance Group with the remit of building the business and establishing the brand as the number one commercial broker in the Midlands. Maude’s appointment will enable Cornerstone Commercial Finance to extend its reach beyond Wales and the South West of England into the Midlands area, broadening the firm’s geographical footprint and service offerings, the company said in a press release.
