Cambridge & Counties Bank has appointed Simon Hilyer as business development manager for the North and Scotland.

The Leicester-based bank was founded in 2012, and is jointly owned by Cambridgeshire Local Government Pension Fund and Trinity Hall, a college of the University of Cambridge.

Hilyer has worked in asset finance for 24 years, and has become part of the bank’s asset finance team in this role, joining from Lloyds Bank.

Hilyer said: “I’m looking forward to working with finance brokers and their customers to help businesses invest and grow, from Yorkshire to all points north.”

In this role, he will report to Mike Oxby, director of asset finance.

Oxby said: “Simon brings an extensive knowledge of asset finance and business. His arrival shows our appetite to lend and our desire to be a speedy, straightforward partner for businesses in the North and Scotland.
