Commercial vehicle fleet provider BNP Paribas Rental Solutions has appointed a head of operations.

Ged Mellish joins the business as head of operations from Saint-Gobain where he was regional fleet engineering manager, jointly responsible for the management of 3,000 heavy and light commercial vehicles, including the company’s MHE fleet leased to internal customers in the UK.

Prior to this, Mellish was an engineering compliance manager at Canute Haulage Group.

BNP Paribas Rental Solutions provides fleet consultancy, nationwide maintenance network and financial fleet leasing products.

Benoit Laflamme, head of BNP Paribas Rental Solutions, said: “Our BNP Paribas Rental Solutions business is going through a period of rapid growth and it is crucial we have the right team in place that will be instrumental in delivering against our ambitious targets.

“Mellish brings with him a unique set of skills and experience that will be of utmost value to our business. I am delighted to welcome him to our team here at BNP Paribas Rental Solutions.”

Ged Mellish, head of operations at BNP Paribas Rental Solutions, said: “I am delighted to be joining a business that I have long admired, and particularly to be doing so during this time of growth and change. I look forward to fully embedding myself in the Rental Solutions business and overseeing operations during this time.”

In February BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions and 3 Step IT agreed to create a European strategic alliance for technology lifecycle management, with a planned joint venture by the end of the year.

The alliance will be effective in the 20 European countries where each of the partners operates, as part of a partnership developed under the name “BNP Paribas 3 Step IT”. Within the partnership, a joint venture operation will trade in 11 countries, starting in France, Italy, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
