BNP Paribas’s leasing division has appointed a chairman to its board of directors, following the retirement of Carlo Thill.

Geoffroy Bazin has taken on the role of chairman for BNP Paribas Lease Group in France and BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions in Belgium, the two subsidiaries heading the group’s leasing operations.

Bazin is a 30-year BNP Paribas veteran who has covered a variety of role across the group’s corporate and investment banking activities. He was most recently country manager for the group’s Switzerland operations, and will take on the role of Luxembourg country manager contextually to the one of chairman for Leasing Solutions.

Carlo Thill has retired following a 40-year career, starting out in the leasing, factoring and credit department of Luxembourg’s BGL Bank, which was acquired by BNP Paribas in 2009. He subsequently covered roles in credit, risk management, commercial and retail banking as well as internal resources.

He joined the board of directors of Leasing Solutions in 1998, and became chairman in 2005.
