Bibby Financial Services (BFS) have appointed a managing director for export finance.

Joining BFS from Yorkshire Bank in 2011, Jim Davis held the role of head of sales for the West Midlands since 2013 and played a key role in the opening of BFS’s West Midlands Business Centre in 2014.

In his career Davis has also worked as a business development manager at HSBC, and beginning his career at BFS also as a business development manager.

Davis said: “While exporting presents fantastic opportunities for businesses to grow, international trade brings with it challenges relating to extended payment terms and complexities surrounding selling goods overseas.

“Our export finance team help SMEs to overcome these challenges, providing certainty of payment, upfront payment against overseas invoices and access to a team of export specialists.

Joe Waters most recently served as director at Partnership Invoice Finance, and was also a founding director at Gener8 Finance. He also held a number of roles at PwC, including client services manager.
