Avolon has appointed Joe Nellis, a former managing director at GE Capital, as an independent non-executive director to its board, effective since 4 January 2017.
The Dublin-based aircraft lessor, which acquired CIT Leasing in October 2016, also appointed Ciarán Ó hÓgartaigh and Denis Kalscheur in the same roles.
Nellis has spent 30 years in financial services, and most recently served as a managing director of the business development team at GE Capital. He joined GE Capital in 1990, and also held the position of commercial leader for GE Capital Solutions, Europe, among other roles.
Ó hÓgartaigh is a professor of accounting and dean of University College Dublin College of Business, and serves on the audit committee of Ireland’s Department of Finance.
Kalscheur has 25 years’ experience in the aviation industry, and previously served as vice chairman and chief executive officer at Aviation Capital Group.
Adam Tan, Avolon chairman, said: “We are delighted to announce the appointment of three new independent directors to our board.
“A strong, experienced, and independent board, which works to protect all stakeholder interests, is central to our strategy to build Avolon into a global leader in aircraft leasing.”
Dómhnal Slattery, Avolon CEO, said: “They bring with them deep experience across different business sectors. Together with the Avolon team, I look forward to working with them as we continue to build Avolon into the premier player in aircraft leasing.”
