Legal and compliance firm Auxillias has appointed Dan Richards to lead its remediation programmes, as regulatory scrutiny in the motor finance sector intensifies ahead of a landmark Supreme Court ruling.
The appointment comes as Auxillias prepares to launch a new service supporting commission and redress programmes. The offering is designed to help firms respond to the expected consequences of the Supreme Court’s forthcoming decision in Smith & Others v Royal Bank of Scotland plc (commonly referred to as the Johnson case), which is anticipated to set a precedent on commission disclosure in motor finance agreements.

According to a press release, Richards brings over 25 years’ experience managing large-scale remediation and transformation initiatives in the UK financial services sector. His previous work has included projects related to payment protection insurance (PPI), complaints handling, Section 166 reviews, and financial crime.
Speaking about the new role, Richards said: “I’m really pleased to be joining Auxillias at such an important time. The launch of the new commission and redress programme support service shows we’re ready to help firms respond with confidence to the challenges ahead.”
Alongside his new role at Auxillias, Richards remains CEO of Profexx Partners, a consultancy focused on tech-enabled remediation services.
Joanne Davis, co-founder and CEO of Auxillias, said: “We’re delighted to have Dan on board. His track record speaks for itself. With the Supreme Court ruling due soon, we’re already working closely with clients to get them prepared for what comes next. Dan is a key part of that team – helping firms assess risk, plan ahead and stay on the front foot.”
